Sri. B. R. Keshava Iyengar (1909 - 1983)
by Andal Sharma
My father Sri. B. R. Keshava Iyengar was a lawyer by profession, but had a deep and abiding love for Sanskrit. In the last years of his life, despite failing health and eyesight, he took up the writing of a monumental treatise on Sanskrit Grammar.
This treatise contains the derivatives and declensions of each word of the Sutras of Sanskrit Grammar propounded in Bhattoji Dikshita's "Vyakarana Siddhanta Kaumudi" and Vasudeva Dikshita's "Balamanorama" along with extensive commentaries. Unfortunately, even after penning about 2000 pages, he passed away before the work could be completed.
This is an exercise where we have compiled, scanned and presented his manuscript in 10 volumes, each contained within a pdf file, so that it can be accessed by anyone who is interested in studying Sanskrit Grammar. It is hoped that this work will be of help to students and researchers of Sanskrit.
This is a tribute to my father's untiring effort and dedication.
